Child Smile Program

"I just wanted to write and compliment the consistently high standard of care I receive here. The reception staff are unfailingly welcoming and professional and dental care is delivered in a calm and friendly manner. I rang recently from abroad with a problem and was offered an emergency appointment for the day after my return. I was examined and the required work and it was scheduled for the same evening. Many thanks to all who look after me at Pilrig Dental Practice."

Where possible we always place tooth coloured restorations, resulting in a natural look.

Unsightly mercury fillings can now be replaced by natural coloured fillings which can improve your smile. Older patients especially may benefit from this type of filling.

White Fillings

Transform stained or discoloured teeth, giving you back a whiter, brighter smile. We offer a number of techniques, including Enlighten Extreme Whitening, a deep bleaching treatment which delivers unbeatable results every time.

Teeth Whitening

Veneers and crowns are used to restore broken teeth and/or to improve the cosmetic appearance of the teeth. Bridges are used to replace missing teeth as an alternative to dentures.

Dentures

All types of gum problems can be diagnosed and treated by our team. In most cases, bleeding gums can be treated quickly and easily. Simple maintenance programs can be established to keep your gums healthy.

Gum Problems

If you suffer from some of the following problems, or indeed headaches and migraines:

  • Flattened or worn teeth

  • Broken teeth, fillings and crowns

  • Loose teeth

  • Continual sensitivity of your teeth to temperature change

  • Toothache with no apparent cause

you may find that you are clenching or grinding your teeth - although most people who do aren’t aware of it. Sometimes it can be caused by anxiety, but generally most people clench their teeth when they are concentrating on a task or when sleeping. If you wake up in the morning with a stiff jaw or tenderness when biting this can also indicate some problems.

After an examination from the dentist, patients can discuss the treatment options which can consist of wearing a small appliance at night. Our SCI and NTI appliances are an approved treatment for migraine in the United States.

Jaw Problems and Headaches

In most cases, simple snoring can be treated with our Sleepwell and Somnowell appliances. Ask your dentist if you are concerned about your partner or yourself. Occasionally, snoring can be an indication of a condition known as OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnoea), which can have serious implications for the patient's general health and may need further investigation by a specialist doctor.

Snoring Appliances

Bad Breath

Simply diagnosed, and usually treated with the help of a special mouth rinse available at the practice.
